“I love the atmosphere here at Wombat Wardrobe and the people are so friendly” said one volunteer.
“Some of the older customers come and talk, and have a cuppa with us, and it is great to catch up with them” she said
“We know some of the customers so well that they are like our friends. We confide in each other and talk about our lives and families.” said another volunteer
Yet another volunteer said “We have so much fun here. We laugh a lot”
Asked what they anticipate the new shop will be like, they said :
“We hope that all our existing customers come with us. We would really miss them if they didn’t”.
“We imagine that we will get new customers too because Kambah Villlage has a chemist, a Woolworths supermarket, a newsagency, a butcher etc so it is busier than where we are now”.
“We hope the caring and happy atmosphere never changes”
“Sure there will be a settling in period and in the first few weeks we will be busy unpacking all the items and putting them on the shelves. After that we hope that we will be able to create the same atmosphere as we had at Wombat Wardrobe.”
The ladies would like some help with unpacking the items and putting them on the shelves after the move. If you can help with this, please let Gillian or Brenton know on 6162 3700.
Action buses provide a bus service that goes to Kambah Village. The 62 and 162 run to Kambah Villlage from both Tuggeranong and Woden in both directions and the 962 runs on Saturday. For those driving, just look out for the Kambah Village and Woolworths signs along Drakeford Drive. We will be opening there on the 19th August.
Please come and join us for the Official Launch / Opening of the Fusion Op Shop – you’re all invited!! It is on the 12th September (Friday) at 10.30am.
We launched a Special Moving Appeal recently and it is not too late to make a donation.
