Right now we have 10 people – 4 leaders and 6 young people – who are wanting to take part in this years Pilgrimage to Uluru but lack of funds is getting in the way.
Here’s “Sam’s” story, one of the 6 working hard to take part:
“Sam’s mum is suffering from cancer and in between paying her own medical expenses, is struggling to come up with money to support Sam to go on this years pilgrimage. Despite her financial situation, she still really wants Sam to go as she thinks that he will find it highly beneficial. Both the school and Sam’s mum believe that it will be a significant part in his journey of growth. Sam is a student leader as part of other Fusion programs where he serves his fellow students and builds them up. His teachers, mum and Fusion Canberra believe it’s time for him to be built up as the Pilgrimage to Uluru is so good at doing. He has been growing in so many ways in the last year by giving of his time to serve others. Now he needs others to get behind him so he can continue to grow and lead others to grow in their potential too. Since committing to the trip, Sam has been selling chocolates at school and has participated in other team fundraising activities to raise money for the trip. “
We need you right now to donate to invest in “Sam” and others just like him to be able to participate in this years pilgrimage to Uluru.
They have been selling chocolates, washing cars, selling cakes and talking to their friends and family members to support them.
But they won’t get there on their efforts alone.
Each pilgrim needs to raise $1,500. Fusion Canberra has pledged to give $300 per person as a partial subsidy but we are still looking like having a deficit of $8,000.
But that’s where you come in.
We will be right up front with you.
We need your funds today like never before to invest in a hopeful future for “Sam” and others just like him.
