For the first time the new and updated Families Short Course, developed by Fusion Australia over many years, will be coming to Canberra in October.
Coming out of Fusion Canberra’s research into the Kambah community over the last 12 months, this course is one of our responses to the growing stress on families.
This course is hosted by Fusion Canberra, and will be held at Namadgi School’s Community Room on two consecutive Friday evenings and Saturday mornings (18th Oct, 7-10pm, 19th Oct, 9.30-12.30 and 25th Oct, 7-10pm, 26th Oct, 9.30-12.30pm).
The course will benefit anyone who is part of a family or who works with and supports families. So pretty much anyone and everyone!
The Families Course covers eight key areas of family relationships and forms a framework to build a healthy, strong and loving family life.
Sessions include presentations by trained Families Course educators, discussion and sharing of ideas to equip families at all stages.
Here’s the titles of the 8 Sessions:
- Foundations for Families
- Building Nurturing Skills
- Understanding Ages and Stages
- Being Positive
- Building Honest Relationships
- Independence
- Dealing with Conflict
- Discipline
Steve Biddulph, the internationally acclaimed author and educator on raising kids, has this to say about the course:
“Really impressive in range and depth, fun and engaging for participants, a huge help for any family situation”
