Held over two consecutive Mondays, 24th June and 1st July, the Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is a must for anyone working with youth or young people, either as a parent, grandparent, youth worker, sunday school teacher, youth pastor, youth leader, teacher, etc.

This is what the Mental Health First Aid website says (www.mhfa.com.au) about this course:

The Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults working or living with adolescents (those aged between 12 and 18 years), however, the course can be relevant for those helping people who are a little younger or older. This course is particularly suitable for parents, teachers, sports coaches, and youth workers.

Fusion Canberra is hosting this course for three main reasons:

1. In our work with young people we are increasingly seeing mental health issues and therefore want to equip our own team members to better identify and apply first aid that is helpful, caring and appropriate;

2. We want to offer this training to others working with youth;

3. We want to raise funds for our valuable youth and community work!

Thanks to Karen Latten, long time Fusion worker, who is now studying her Masters in Community Nursing in Sydney, we are able to offer it cheaper than the normal price.

Current Fusion volunteers – $100

Others – $200
