At 6pm tonight Christians from across Canberra will gather at the viewing platform on Mt Ainslie to pray for our nation, our city and our communities. They will go through all night till 6am Saturday morning.
This is the 24th vigil of this kind on Mt Ainslie, the first one being in 1990.
Different churches and christian organisations will be leading hourly segments throughout the night.
Unity College and Fusion Canberra expect more than 150 people to take part.
This is part of ensuring that the true message of Easter – the death of selfishness and the coming alive of care and compassion – doesn’t get lost in our society.
