Today, 3 years ago, Fusion Canberra opened Wombat Wardrobe shopfront.
It was a Saturday morning and our team was very excited to be opening our first shopfront social enterprise.
Senator Gary Humphries and Sam Garcia cut the ribbon. Pastor Ken Perrin gave a blessing and said a prayer.
And the first customers came through the door. Among the first sales was a book purchased by Steve Doszpot MLA.
Over the last 3 years this shop and its dedicated volunteer team has kept the doors open for a total of 146 weeks, 730 days & 4,040 hours!
We estimate we have recycled at least 30,000 garments, thousands of books and many other items, enabling them to be used again thus keeping them out of landfill longer.
