This Good Friday, 29 March, up on one of the highest points in our Nation’s Capital, there will again be Christians from many churches and Christian denominations joining together to pray.

This year will be the 23rd all night Good Friday prayer vigil on Mt Ainslie.

Different churches and Christian ministries have taken slots from 6pm on Good Friday through till 6am on Easter Saturday.

They are doing this throughout the night as a way to share the true spirit of Easter.

In a show of solidarity with Jesus’ prayer vigil in the Garden of Gethsemane so many years ago on the first Easter,  local Christians are sacrificing sleep to pray for the most vulnerable in our society, our politicians,  emergency service personnel and any other needs that come up.

This year’s vigil is organised by Unity College and supported by Fusion Canberra.

All who want to join in prayer at this important season are welcome to join.
