At the beginning of this year the future of Melrose High School breakfast club was looking grim.
Started in 2007, this Breakfast Club has positively impacted literally thousands of young lives in the 7 years its been running.
Financially supported by St Georges Anglican Church, Pearce, and Fusion Canberra, the club has had numerous faithful volunteers to keep it going and serving the youth.
But even with all of this support, it wasn’t able to continue through 2014.
Realising it was a crisis point, the team came together and began trying to drum up support from a range of community groups and businesses. At first it seemed like those efforts where not getting anywhere. But after much prayer, sharing stories and the team working together, soon support grew.
Together, there really is life.
Fusion Canberra is proud to announce that Melrose High School Breakfast Club is now supported by many generous churches, community groups and businesses.
- St Georges Anglican Church, Pearce
- Saigon Southlands Bakery
- Capital Chilled Foods
- The Salvation Army Mawson
- Molonglo Community Bank® Group, Calwell, Curtin, Jerrabomberra, and Wanniassa Community Bank® Branches
- The Chifley Grocer
They are generously donating finances and food so that the breakfast club can continue to feed bellies, fuel minds and provide a safe and inclusive environment where people are valued for who they and where students are encouraged to serve one another and build one another up.
A BIG thank you from Fusion Canberra goes out to these businesses on behalf of the students of Melrose High.
